NYE 2006 ON THE SAN FRANCISCO WATERFRONT!

This coming New Year's Eve 2006, celebrated San Francisco-based event producers ANON SALON will once again raise their highly successful SEA of DREAMS NYE event here in SAN FRANCISCO.

ANON SALON has recently reached an agreement with the management of the internationally respected and popular musical group, The String Cheese Incident <www.stringcheeseincident.com> to co-produce this event.

String Cheese” has performed many times in San Francisco. They were here for multi-night New Year's Eves' shows at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in 2003 and 2004. They tour extensively and have a dedicated and respectful Bay Area fan base. The joining of String Cheese with ANON SALON, especially in as unique a venue as Pier 48, would surely create an unforgettable and high profile event, and lay the foundation for what could be a magical San Francisco tradition.

This web page will provide background on ANON SALON: who they are, what they do and why they are the perfect fit to produce a gala New Year's Eve 2006 event on San Francisco's legendary waterfront!

As to the specifics, we are interested in Pier 48 and the "Strider" facing the northern cityscape. We are also interested in the Annex and Outside area for backstage area and staff parking.

We would seek access to these spaces for set-up on December 28th, 29th and 30th with the public events ideally on the evenings of both the 30th and the 31st. We would do a light strike on the 1st of January followed by a major strike and complete clearance of the property on the 2nd.

Both organizations have held successful large scale new year's events without incident over the last 5 years. Togther we would bring a hight level of exdperiecne and professionalism to the event. Our aim for an occupancy would be approximately 5000-6000 each night. In the past, ANON SALON NYE's event have generally had 2500-3000 participants, while String Chess events at the Bill grahm Civic Cener were even larger.

As co-producers, ANON SALON would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of references upon request, including the following from side:

Cindy Shambam (ISCOTT)
Officer Swiatko (Bayview Station)
Officer Gigi George (Bayview Station)
Complex Corporation Insurance

Jocelyn Kane (SF Entertainment Commission)
Dogpatch Community Alliance
Potrero Hill Boosters
Jennifer Hundley (SF Regency Center)
Dirk Alton (BBC Catering)
Officer Rose Meyer (Southern Station)
Bob Davis (SF Entertainment Commission)

and others...

We look forward to speaking further about this exciting and potentially mutually beneficial opportunity.

Thank you.

ABOUT SEA OF DREAMS

SEA of DREAMS is not your average New Year's event. It is rather a multi-media cross-disciplinary extravaganza that draws artists, performers and partygoers from a wide variety of creative communities and age groups together in the creation of a completely unique event experience.

Drawing on talent from up and down the west coast, it has long been an innovative showcase for the best and most collaborative aspects of our local arts and music scene.

Largely unadvertised, but annually sold out, SEA of DREAMS is one of the most lavish eye-popping events of the year. Past year's performers have included ANON musical favorites; SOUND TRIBE SECTOR 9, HAMSA LILA, LOST AT LAST, MUTAYTOR, UK DJ FREQ NASTY, ELLEN FERRATO, LORIN, WICKED DJ'S GARTH and JENÖ, KID BEYOND and THE VAU DE VIRE SOCIETY along with a host of other live bands, DJs, circus acts, cabaret and performance artists, visual, video and interactive art installations all woven around the predominantly costumed revelers that are the signature touch of all ANON SALON events.

HISTORY OF ANON SALON

For nearly twenty years, ANON SALON has helped shape the course of West Coast entertainment history by producing literally hundreds of of unique theme events; as well as theater festivals, gallery shows, technology conferences and the annual Decompression street fairs for Burning Man fans both in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Though BURNING MAN may have coined the motto "no spectators", the genesis for that movement tracks back to the 1980's and to local arts groups like ANON SALON, that continue to serve those ideals of collective self-expression throughout the year. Artistically, ANON SALON builds on the long cross-disciplinary and avant-garde tradition that is uniquely San Francisco. Event producers JOEGH BULLOCK, MARCIA CROSBY and MARK "SPOONMAN" PETRAKIS have been blurring the line between performer and audience for close to 25 years, along the way reflecting the changing face of San Francisco's most adventurous and creative communities.

Beginning in the early 1980's, hese three original partners in ANON SALON have been central to the local alternative and underground art scene. Collectively, they raised giant GLASHAUS parties in the 1980's, COBRA LOUNGE art vaudeville shows, the ICON BYTE BAR AND GRILL (the first Internet bar and café in SF), the award-winning CLIMATE THEATER, the world famous SOLO MIO PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL and FESTIVAL FANTOCCHIO OF NEW PUPPETRY. Besides producing the first official website for BURNING MAN, they also initiated San Francisco-based BURNING MAN parties called FLAMBÉ LOUNGES as well as the annual DECOMPRESSION and HEAT THE STREETS STREET FaIRES.

In the early 1990's, Joegh and Marcia merged with Petrakis' production group, pARTy/SCIENCE for the purpose of uniting the Bay Area art and technology communities in what proved to be immensely successful monthly gallery "party/event/ performances" known as ANON SALON. Throughout this period, pARTy/SCIENCE also provided story and live event and conference consultant services to a host of corporations and research organizations.

RECENT NYE HISTORY

After a long run of successful mid-sized New Year's events, ANON SALON began producing large scale New Year's events on the eve of the new millennium. That event, called SuperNova 2000 was held at the old International Ballroom at 50 Oak Street. The following year, the first Sea of Dreams was held at Pier 35 on San Francisco's waterfront.

On NYE 2002, the event moved to its most recent home at the magnificent San Francisco Regency Center. These past four years has seen ever more lovely Sea of Dreams events at the Regency Center: Dive Ocean in 2002, Fanta-See in 2003, Trident's Tale in 2004 and Surrealia! in 2005.

This past year, for the first time as well, ANON SALON produced a parallel event called Sea of Dreams - ODDySEA, in downtown Los Angeles at the magnificent Park Plaza Hotel.

Next New Year's Eve 2006, party history will be made once again, as ANON SALON combines their talents and experience to light up the two hottest spots on the West Coast in another set of incomparable ANON SALON-style celebrations - two separate cities, two separate and beautiful venues, with two separate and singularly spectacular events.
