1. PAMELA EEN MEMORIAL - 1.12.17

A dear friend to many in the Bay Area circus and theater scene, Pamela Een passed away on the winter solstice. She was much loved... a great and generous soul whose work most recently with the Vau de Vire Society as both grand doyenne, costumer extraordinaire and so much more put her at the very center of that extraordinary family of artists and friends. In the wake of her unexpected passing, her legion of friends from so many corners of the Bay Area are announcing a memorial event that will take place on Thursday, January 12th at The Oakland Metro Operahouse off Jack London Sqaure.

Thursday, January 12, 2017
8pm-2am

@ The Oakland Metro Operahouse.
522 2nd Street
Oakland, California 94607

An altar will be set up to her memory and to which you are invited to contribute. If you have something special you might like to share or contribute, a contact person will be available soon, or in the interim send a mesage to Ty Bourne at ty@vaudeviresociety.com

Thank you, and peace in the new year

THE CAKELAND FETE NOIR
A Solo Art Exhibition by SCOTT HOVE

Opening Night - Saturday January 14th, 7-10pm
Show runs thru February 7th

@ HERON ARTS
7 Heron St.
SF, CA 94103

On a personal note, I have known Scott for a long time and he is truly inventive and gifted person and artist. In him, they are one and the same. Come on down Saturday night the 14th and see what he has unleashed on SF. Heron Arts in SOMA, near 8th & Harrison is a great gallery.

Hove recently relocated to Los Angeles where he has created immersive experiences for the LA Art Show and Banksy's Dismaland. His most recent 2016 exhibition at Break Bread in downtown Los Angeles featured a massive cake maze installation, receiving international press and over 30,000 attendees.

This San Francisco exhibition, a contemplation on class and status for those on the top and for those caught in the squeeze of survival, will feature all new works ranging from decadent sculptural pieces to a site specific installation and new paintings.

Following his continual reference to a perceived "light and dark" dualism, the beautiful spectacle will lead to chambers of fear and claustrophobia in the form of a "hell pit" and grand chandelier composed of massive cowbones.

Also featured will be a large-scale video installation infinity chamber featuring natural dualistic forces, Break Bread (a 9,000 square foot installation and collaboration with Bakers' Son and Cirque du Soleil).

At once beautiful and grotesque, the show and gallery will provide a peak beauty experience while embracing the spectacle of pure artifice.
